Sri Balasubramanya Swami Teynampet Temple Timings History
Vannia Teynampet’s Balasubramanya Swami Temple. What was formerly a shrine to Siva is now dedicated to Murugan. The presiding deity of this almost 400-year-old temple is Ramalingeswarar, while the name of the temple’s female patron goddess, Amman, is Parvadhavarthini. It’s fitting that the street immediately next to the temple, Ramalingeswarar Sannidhi street, has the name of the ancient temple.
Ramalingeswarar is the beneficiary of all donated temple property. In 1965, the Rajagopuram and the Murugan Sannidhi Valli Deva Sena Sameda Balasubramanyar were constructed. In honor of their efforts, the Temple is now known as Balasubraswami Temple. Moolavar Balasubramanyar, also known as Adhikara Murugan, is shown as a little statue with his hands on his hips.
Sannidhis for Ramalingeswarar, Parvadhavarthini Amman, and Vinayagar may be seen in a row facing east. The Saneeshwarar and Navagraham religions each have their own temples. Lord Nataraja and Sivakami, in their cosmic dance position, are worshipped in a separate temple.
Balasubramanian is believed to provide eternal life to those who marry and worship him on Pradosham day, hence single people are considered easy victims. In the last decades of the eighteenth century, Vannia Teynampet grew, and the Amman temple at Teynampet junction was likely the Grama Devathai.
