What Is TTD Annaprasadam in Tirumala?
TTD Annaprasadam in Tirumala is the free food service that TTD runs for devotees visiting the hill shrine. TTD began its organised Annadanam scheme in 1985. The Tirumala tradition of feeding pilgrims is also closely associated with saint-poet Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba.
The service is much larger today because food is no longer limited to one dining hall. In January 2026, TTD named three major Tirumala kitchens operating around the clock. They are MTVAC, Sri Akshaya Kitchen and Vakulamatha Kitchen.
That does not mean the MTVAC public dining hall serves every menu item 24 hours a day. The kitchens support a wider distribution network, while MTVAC itself follows published breakfast, lunch and dinner windows.
Current Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Menu
TTD’s January 2026 update gives the clearest current picture of the public Annaprasadam menu. It lists rotating breakfast items in the morning and an eight-item meal for both afternoon and evening service.
Morning service may include wheat rava upma, sooji rava upma, semiya upma or pongal. TTD also lists chutney and sambar with the breakfast service.
Because these are rotating items, do not expect every breakfast dish on the same plate. Older pages often add idli, kichadi, pulihora, kesari and several chutneys as daily items. However, the current TTD menu does not support that fixed list.
TTD’s 2026 menu lists sweet pongal, rice, curry, chutney, vada, sambar, rasam and buttermilk for the afternoon meal. The exact vegetable curry or chutney can vary because a large kitchen works with daily production needs.
Vada is an important recent change. TTD introduced vada at MTVAC in March 2025. Then, in July 2025, TTD extended vada service from 11:00 AM until 10:00 PM daily.

Where Is Free Annaprasadam Served in Tirumala?
MTVAC is the best-known dining complex, but it is only one part of the system. TTD also names several other distribution points. These include Vaikuntham Queue Complexes, Pilgrim Amenities Complexes, outer queue lines and food counters.
Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba Annaprasadam Complex
MTVAC is the main sit-down meal complex in Tirumala. TTD named it after Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba, whose service to pilgrims became closely linked with the Annadanam tradition on the hill.
Do not confuse MTVAC with Vishnu Nivasam. Vishnu Nivasam is a TTD pilgrim complex in Tirupati town, opposite the railway station, not the location of Tirumala’s main Annaprasadam hall.
Sri Akshaya Kitchen
TTD’s January 2026 report says Sri Akshaya Kitchen prepares items such as upma, pongal, sambar rice, curd rice, tomato rice and sundal. It also supports distribution of milk, tea and coffee within the wider pilgrim-service system.
Vakulamatha Kitchen and other dining points
Vakulamatha Kitchen supplies sambar rice, curd rice and upma to several Tirumala locations. In its 2026 update, TTD named PAC-2, PAC-4, PAC-5, PAC-1 and the Central Enquiry Office. It also named the Rambagicha area.
Because the food network reaches queue and accommodation areas, you may receive food without visiting MTVAC. However, the full sit-down meal experience is easiest to plan at the main Annaprasadam complex during its published meal windows.
Is TTD Annaprasadam Free for Everyone?
Yes. The public TTD Annaprasadam service is free, and your darshan category does not turn it into a paid meal. You do not need to buy a meal ticket from a private website or agent.
Donations to the Sri Venkateswara Annaprasadam Trust are voluntary. If you want to contribute, use only TTD’s official portal or the official donation channels linked from TTD’s own website.

What Changed in the TTD Annaprasadam Menu?

Then, on 11 January 2026, TTD published a broader update on the entire Tirumala food system. It listed the three major kitchens and the current morning, afternoon and evening menu pattern.
TTD also said the wider Annaprasadam operation serves very large pilgrim volumes across the hill. That scale explains why the system relies on multiple kitchens, queue-line distribution and satellite dining points instead of one single hall.

Do Not Confuse Public Annaprasadam with Temple Naivedyam
TTD publishes a separate list of food offerings made to Lord Venkateswara inside the temple. That ritual Naivedyam includes many traditional preparations and follows Vaikhanasa Agama practice.
The public meal hall menu is different. Therefore, do not copy the temple’s 40-plus ritual offerings into a public dining guide. Those dishes are not the everyday pilgrim meal menu.
This distinction also explains why some websites show far more dishes than a pilgrim actually sees at MTVAC. For trip planning, use the Annaprasadam Trust menu and current TTD food-service updates, not the deity’s ritual offering list.
How to Plan TTD Annaprasadam Around Darshan
First, use your darshan reporting time as the fixed point. Then choose a meal window with enough walking and queue time. A last-minute meal can make you rush to the reporting point.
- Early darshan: If you finish before breakfast begins, use an approved food counter or wait for the 9:00 AM MTVAC breakfast window.
- Late-morning darshan: Lunch begins at 10:30 AM, so it is the easiest full meal to fit after darshan.
- Afternoon darshan: Eat before the 4:00 PM lunch cutoff, or plan for dinner after 5:00 PM.
- Long queue wait: Follow TTD staff directions because food and beverages are also distributed inside queue areas.

Do not rely on an old 7:00 AM breakfast time. TTD’s current Annaprasadam Trust page lists MTVAC tiffin from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM.
Do not assume every dish appears daily. Breakfast rotates, while the lunch and dinner core menu is more consistent. Festival arrangements can also change service patterns.
Do not go to Vishnu Nivasam expecting the Tirumala main dining hall. Vishnu Nivasam is in Tirupati town. MTVAC is the main Annaprasadam complex on the Tirumala hill.

TTD Annaprasadam in Tirumala serves very large crowds, so take only the food you can finish. Follow the dining-hall staff and Srivari Sevaks, as they move batches through the halls quickly during busy periods.
