Garuda Tirumala Pournami Seva:
Garuda is Lord Vishnu’s Vahana. Garuda Seva is conducted in Tirumala every year on the fifth day of Brahmotsavams. On this day, almost 5 lakh pilgrims visit Tirumala. As a result, garuda seva is becoming increasingly significant in Tirumala. Many pilgrims feel that the Seva can only be performed at the Tirumala brahmotsavam. This only happens once a year. Many pilgrims, however, are unaware that the Garuda Seva can be performed in Tirumala on any Pournami day. The Garuda Seva technique allows the Lord Sri Venkateswara Utsava idol to be carried through the Thiru Mada Streets on Lord Garuda. Because this Seva is open to anyone, any pilgrim who happens to be at Tirumala on the same day can take part.
