The Durga Navratri festival is grandly observed at the Vijayawada Kanakadurga temple. Every year, nine days are dedicated to celebrating Dasara with nine distinct Alankaranas. This year, Aswayuja Suddha Padyami (September 26) will mark the beginning of Dasara Sharan Navaratri Utsavalu, which will end on Aswayuja Suddha Dasami (Vijaya Dasami) on October 5.

After Snapanam on September 26th, the temple will open at 8:00 AM. The Temple will be open for Darshanam on other days from 3:00 AM to 11:00 PM. between 2:00 AM and 11:00 PM on the day of Moola Nakshatram. On Saraswati Alankaram day, between 4:00 and 5:00 PM, Pattu Vastralu is available thanks to the AP government. On October 5, also known as Vijayadasami Day, poornahuti, kalasa udvasana, teppostavam, and shamipooja will be performed.

Vijayawada Kanaka Durga Special Kumkumarchana: On the day of Moola Nakshatra Saraswati Puja, Special Kumkumarchana is conducted in four batches.

Timings for the Special Kumkumarchana:

Batch 1: from 7 to 9 a.m.
Batch 2: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Batch 3: from 1:00 until 3:30.
Batch 4: 4:00–6:00 p.m.
Only 200 tickets will be available at the temple desk for Kumkumarchana.
The cost of a Visesha Chandi Homam ticket is Rs. 4000.
Prices for Visesha Chandi Homam tickets and Kumkumarchana tickets are subject to change without notice.

On the third day, Sri Gayatri Devi alankaram is used to beautify Goddess Durga Devi. Sri Gayatri Devi has five different faces. The goddess of knowledge is thought to be Gayatri Devi, according to the Puranas.
