Legend of Radha Kund Snan:
After Lord Krishna killed Aristasura, a bull-shaped demon, Radha Kund was made. Hindus believe that the bull is a religious symbol because it comes from the same family as cows. Radharani and the Gopis thought that Lord Krishna had broken a religious rule by killing the bull. Radha asked Krishna to clean himself up by bathing in all the holy rivers. So, Lord Krishna brought water from all the holy places to a single place to make Radharani happy.
When Krishna stomped the ground with his lotus feet, the water from all the holy rivers gathered there. Since then, people have called that place Shyama Kunda, which means “the place where all the holy rivers meet.” Seeing this, Radharani dug the ground with her bangles to make another Kund next to the Shyama Kunda. All of the holy bodies of water asked Radha ji to let them into the Kund, which she had made. So, this is how Radha Kund came into being. On the banks of Radha Kunda, there are also eight kunjas named after Radha Rani’s eight most important sakhis.
