The Kapila Theertham is a well-known Saivite temple and theertham that can be found in the Tirupati neighborhood of the Tirupati District in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. As it is widely believed that Kapila Muni was responsible for installing the idol, Lord Siva is often referred to as Kapileswara in this context. At the entrance of the temple, a large stone statue of a sitting bull named “Nandhi,” which is Shiva’s horse, welcomes worshippers and anyone who is just passing by.
At the foot of the Tirumala hills, which are a part of the Seshachalam Hills, the temple can be found at the entrance to a mountain cave in one of the steep and vertical faces. This is the location where the waters of the mountain stream fall directly into Temple Pushkarini, which is also referred to as “Kapila Theertham.” Many people believe that if they bathe in it at the appropriate moment, they would be saved from the endless cycle of birth and death
