The name Sila Thoranam translates to “rock garland” in English. Rock Garden is the name that most people give to this location. In 1980, as archaeologists were excavating this location, they discovered a natural stone arch in the middle of the site. This natural arch comprises two distinct kinds of rocks that are united by a connection. It is believed that weathering and wind erosion were responsible for the construction of the arch-like rock structure that is 25 feet in length and 10 feet in height.

The formation is referred to as pre-Cambrian and occurred several millions of years before the Cambrian period. According to certain calculations, the age of the arch is around 1500 million years old, while the age of the rock that makes up the arch is somewhere around 2500 million years old. It is stated that there are just two such places like this on the whole planet alone.

The greatest time to see the arch is between the hours of six and eight in the morning, during dawn, or in the late afternoon, around sunset, when the Arch seems even more arresting and mysterious in the light of the sun. This location is convenient since it’s on the road to Srivari Paadalu. Since the Chakra Teertham is located in the same compound, you should make it a priority to pay it a visit at the same time.
