The Tirumala Swamivari Pushkarini is considered to be the most sacred location in all of Tirumala, second only to the Swami Temple. The Pushkarini has a history that is on par with that of the temple; its origins can be traced all the way back to when Lord Venkatwara arrived in Tirumala and accepted his role as Kaliyuga Daivam at this location. It is stated that Lord Venkateswara took a bath in this Pushkarini, and a dip in this Pushkarini is regarded as the most auspicious and equivalent to a plunge in the River Ganges. It is stated that the Pushkarini was the peaceful pond where the gods and goddesses would relax, and it is also said to be equivalent to Pala Samudram, which is associated with Lord Maha Vishnu.
