Information on the Padmanabhaswamy Temple that You Need to Know :
Should I make a Special or VIP Darshan reservation?
- There are typically four entry gates, with the East Gate serving as the principal entrance. As soon as you enter the temple, you must proceed to the Srikovil in line (sanctum sanctorum). On all days, excluding festival and special days, the darshan takes between 40 and an hour in the early morning (between 5:00 and 6:00), or roughly 2 hours after 7 a.m.
- During festivals and other special events, the temple must do special poojas; as a result, darshan may take longer than 2 hours due to the massive influx of devotees.
- There is a special or VIP darshan option if you need to visit right away or have an issue with waiting in line. Tickets for this exclusive darshan are available when you enter the temple or you can reserve this in advance for Rs 300 per person.
- People who reserved special darshan are taken immediately to the sanctum sanctorum, Srikovil, for darshan and can leave the temple in 15 to 20 minutes.
Can I bring my wheelchair?
If you are coming for darshan and would want to utilise a wheelchair, your wheelchair will only be permitted up to the temple’s main entrance. Wheelchairs are available from the temple administration upon request, however you are not permitted to approach the sanctum sanctorum from the front. Within the temple, you may utilise this wheelchair.
restrooms or changing rooms in the temple ?
No restrooms or changing rooms are accessible inside the temple. However, there are private individuals who are selling this service in exchange for money in front of the main entrance (East Gate).
What should I wear at the Padmanabhaswamy Temple?
- The administration has established a stringent dress code for the shrine. The shirt must be taken off and the gentleman must wear a dhoti. If wearing pants, a dhoti must be worn on top of the pants. Children must also cover their half-trousers or pant with a dhoti. One must store the blouse in a cloakroom outside the temple because it is prohibited from being worn within.
- While women wearing sarees are exempt from wearing a dhoti, those wearing churidars, leggings, or pants must do so. In front of the East gate, there are numerous stores selling the majority of the necessary supplies.
