Pilgrims may use the road from Tirupati to Tirumala or the foot route. Pilgrims may fulfil their vows by walking across two well-laid stone paths known as SOPANAMARGAS to Tirumala. One route starts at ALIPIRI, while the other starts at SRIVARI METTU.
Alipiri paths:
Pilgrims may take complimentary buses run by TIRUMALA TIRUPATI DEVASTHANAMS or APSRTC buses leaving from Tirupati Railway station and Bus stations to reach the foot of ALIPIRI and SRI VARI METTU.
The journey from ALIPIRI to Tirumala is around 7.80 kilometres long and takes about 3 hours.
Pilgrims who intend to ascend the hills may leave their luggage at the foot of the hills and recover it after reaching Tirumala at the GNC free luggage desk for ALIPIRI trekkers and the MBC free luggage counter for SRIVARI METTU hikers. Pilgrims are urged to use the pedestrian paths due to their medical issues.

TTD provides the following services to pilgrims hiking to Tirumala:
- Bags are transported to Tirumala at no cost. Pilgrims will get a token when they leave their luggage at either of the Tirupati choutries or at the Alipiri Toll Gate. They may get their luggage at the Tirumala Central Reception Office Counter.
- Water should be accessible throughout the journey.
- Toilets
- Rest spots are strategically placed throughout the route.
- Constant security patrols to keep pilgrims safe from being cheated or duped by dishonest people.
- Religious programming is aired on the local broadcasting system.
- Throughout the training, there is 24-hour medical assistance.
- Canteens that provide refreshments.
- The APSRTC runs free buses from Tirupati Railway Station to Alipiri every 30 minutes. Pilgrims who want to ascend the slopes to Tirumala may take these buses.

- TTD has implemented free darshan for everyone and online token distribution.
- Divya Darshan tokens are not issued on the Alipiri and Srivari mettu paths.
Requirements for visiting Tirumala:
- Darshan requires either a COVID test result or proof of immunisation.
- Vaccination certificate for persons who have got two doses.
- Negative report for individuals who just took one dose or none at all. It must take place within 48 hours of the Darshan date.
