According to the traditions that are preserved in temples, a Great Sage by the name of Yada Maharishi once resided in Tretayugam. Yada Maharishi is said to have been the son of Sage Rishya Srunga. In preparation for the manifestation of Lord Lakshmi Narasimha, the sage Yada rishi performed austerities in a cave that is located nearby this hill.
The Lord Narasimha Swamy honored the Yadarishi by bestowing boons upon him after making an appearance before him in one of the five forms described above after being delighted by the commitment and devotion of the aforementioned sage. The Lord decided to make the hill his home after being petitioned to do so by Sage Yada, and he immediately began bestowing his favor upon the worshipers that came to visit.
From that point on, the aforementioned hill is known as “Yadari,” and the god that resides there is known as “Yadadri Lakshmi Narasimha Swami.” The Ganda Bherunda Form of Lord Narasimha is a unique and powerful manifestation of the deity, and it is the fifth form described above. Yadadri Temple Significance And Importance
In the Tretha yuga, Yada Maharishi, the son of Sage Rishyasrunga and Shanta Devi, did severe penance for Lord Narsimha in a cave with the blessings of Lord Hanuman in between the hills of Bhongir and Raigiri. Yada Maharishi was given the name “Yada” by Lord Narsimha. Because of his dedication, Lord Narimsha was able to be compassionate and appear in five different forms. These forms are known as Sri Jwala Narasimha, Sri Yogananda, Sri Gandabherunda, Sri Ugra Narasimha, and Sri Lakshmi Narasimha. Yada Maharshi pleaded with the Lord to remain atop the hill in each of his five guises for as long as possible.
According to a different epical narrative, Lord Sriman Narayana was moved to compassion by the penance of Sage Rishyasrunga, and as a result, he sent Lord Hanuman to guide Sage Rishyasrunga towards the direction of where Sri Lakshminarasimha Swamy resides. This location is referred to as the foot of the Yadagiri hilltop presently.
One stone was used in the construction of the temple, which was done in accordance with Vaishnava Agama Shastra. A central temple, a Mukha mandapam, a Vratha peetham, Swami Vari udyana Vanam, a Kalyana mandapam, and a Satram are all part of the Yadadri Narasimha temple. In addition, there are seven wooden gopurams.
The cave that the temple was erected in is 12 feet in height and 30 feet in length. Daily prayers are said to each of the five incarnations of Narasimha Swamy that are practiced by devotees and priests. The Jwala Narasimha takes the form of a snake, whereas the Yogananda Narasimha assumes the traditional yoga attitude of the lotus position.
