Story Of Japali theertham Temple
A brahmin by the name of Duradhara used to make his home on the banks of the Kaveri River a very long time ago. He was a robber, a drunk, and a vicious individual all rolled into one. There is no act of wickedness that he did not engage in. As a direct result of this, he abandoned his Brahminism. They had a similar fate since they were associated with him and came into contact with him. After that, the goblin known as Bhetala began to haunt Durachara. He raced from one location to the next till he reached Venkatadri, where he ended up falling into a theertha that is now known as the Japali theertham. Almost instantly, he was able to revert back to his former identity as a brahmin. Even after being freed from Bhetala, he was unable to remember his full history in its entirety. He kept on wandering. Sage Japali, who he had previously been and who informed him of the greatness of the Japali Theertham, was the first person he encountered.

How to Make Your Way to the Japali Temple:
- From the CRO Office in Tirumala to Papavinashanam, there are daily bus services provided by the APSRTC. You are free to get off the bus whenever you like at Japali Theertham.
- Buses will be available at the half-hourly interval.
- You can also drive to Japali, but in order to access Japali Hanuman Kshetra, you will need to walk for approximately one kilometre through the bush.
