For Hindus, Srisailam is a holy spot since there are many stories from the Puranas and Vedas that inform us about the sacredness of the place where manifestations of Lord Shiva and Sati Devi are located. Srisailam is home to one of the Jyotirlingas and one of the Shakthi Peethas (organs of goddess Sati found throughout India in various forms). Mallikarjuna Swamy as Lord Shiva in the form of Linga and Bramarambha Devi as his consort are worshipped by the people of India here at Srisailam. This temple has many unique features and stories concealed in each pillar. There are several stories concerning Lord Shiva and Parvati, as well as their sons Ganesha and Kumara Swamy. The top lip of Sati Devi fell to earth at this location, according to the Vedas, and it is considered one of India’s eighteen Shakthi Peethas.

Srisailam – Sparsha Darshan:

‘Sparsa Darsanam,’ in which devotees can touch Srisailam Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy’s lingam.

Darshans are several forms of visits to the temple. Devotees can visit the temple for free, but trust me, it will be a crowded and time-consuming affair, with few people able to glimpse Mallikarjuna Swamy’s Linga form. However, there are numerous sorts of Darshans available at varying pricing points. Seeghradarshan is available for 100 rupees, Ati seeghradarshan is available for 300 rupees, and Linga Darshan/Break Darshan is available for 500 rupees. More money means more visibility and a shorter visit duration.
