What exactly are Skanda Sashti and Kanda Sashti?

Kanda Shashti, another name for Skanda Sashti, is a festival honouring Lord Skanda, an incarnation of Lord Kartikeya, the son of Lord Shiva and Paravati. It is one of the main celebrations in the south that honours Lord Skanda or Subaramanya. The demons under the orders of Tarakasura, Simhamukha, and Surapadma wrecked havoc in the heavenly residences of many gods and goddesses, according to the Skanda Purana. Both Shukla Paksha and Krishna Paksha include Shashti. Twice a month, Shashti visits. In Hinduism, shashti has its own unique importance. Durga Puja, Sitalasthi, Skanda Sashti or Subramanya Shashthi, and Chhath Puja are some of the well-known festivities that fall on Shashthi Tithi. On the day of Shashthi, people worship Kartikeya, the son of Lord Shiva.
