TTD Annaprasadam:
On April 4, 1985, T.T.Devasthanams started the Venkateswara Nitya Annadanam Endowment Scheme. The Honourable Chief Minister of A.P. at the time, Sri Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao garu, fed 2,000 pilgrims at Tirumala for free every day. The plan was turned into a separate trust called “SRI VENKATESWARA NITHYA ANNADANAM TRUST” on January 1, 1994.
The Executive Officer, T.T.D., is in charge of the Trust. The Trust’s name has changed to “SRI VENKATESWARA ANNAPRASADAM TRUST” as of April 1, 2014. This trust is kept going by donations from people all over the world who believe in it and want to help. All of the donations were put into banks that were owned by the government, and the money made is used to pay for the trust’s costs.
Donors who qualify will get a thank-you letter, a certificate exempting them from paying income tax under Section 80(G) of the Internal Revenue Code, and a donor pass book. Before June 2008, the Sri Vari Tirumala Temple gave tokens to pilgrims who had darshan and got Annaprasadams.
