Tirumala’s Kalyanotsavam commemorates the celestial wedding ceremony that lasts for one hour and is performed at the Kalyana Mandapam in accordance with the Vaikasa Agama Sastra for the Utsava Murthis of the Lord, together with His consorts Sri Devi and Bhu Devi. The marriage is presided over by the priest, who also appoints an Archaka to carry out any additional necessary rites on behalf of the groom.

Tirumala’s Kalyanotsavam celebrates the celestial wedding ceremony that is held in accordance with Vaikasa Agama Sastra for the Utsava Murthis of the Lord, together with His consorts Sri Devi and Bhu Devi, at the Kalyana Mandapam. The ceremony lasts for one hour. The priest is the one who actually performs the marriage, but an Archaka is the one who is ordained to carry out the other rites on behalf of the groom.
There is a screen in the middle of the idols of the Lord and His wives, which means that they face each other. When the necessary Homam has been performed by the priests, the screen between the bridegroom and the brides is then removed at the appropriate moment of auspiciousness. Only then are they allowed to view each other. After this, the Mangala sutra Dharana and Tahlambralu are performed, and then the Lord and his consorts are decorated with flowers.
History Of The kalyanotsavam
Before the year 1546, there are no inscriptions that refer to the Kalyanotsavam festival. Talapakka Tirumalayyangar is credited with being the one who first presented it. During that period, the month of Panguni was the setting for the Tirumamani Mandapam’s hosting of the five-day long Kalyanotsavam festival.
