SRI GOVINDARAJASWAMI TEMPLE: 

Legend has it that the great Vaishnava teacher, Sri Ramanuja, consecrated this shrine. The Deity is resting in a reclining position. The Temple contains temples to Sri Andal, Sri Parthasarathi, and Sri Venkateswara. Ph. 2222443.

SRI KODANDARAMASWAMI TEMPLE: 

This Sri Rama Temple is located approximately one kilometre from Tirupati railway station. The temple was built to commemorate Sri Rama, Lakshmana, and Sita’s visit to Tirupati on their way back from Lanka. Ph. 2220124

SRI KAPILESWARASWAMY TEMPLE: 

This Lord Siva shrine is roughly three kilometres from Tirupati. The deity is known as Kapileswara, and the tirtham is known as ‘Kapilatirtham’ since Kapila Maharshi erected the Sivalinga here. Ph.0877- 2264587.

ALAMELUMANGAPURAM (TIRUCHANUR): 

Tiruchanur, also known as Alamelumangapuram, is a sacred location located around 5 kilometres from Tirupati. This is the location of the Temple of Sri Padmavathi Devi, Lord Venkateswara’s consort. It is claimed that a visit to Tirumala is only worthwhile after seeing the Sri Padmavathi Devi Temple in Tiruchanur. As a result, after visiting Tirumala and Tirupati temples, people travel to Tiruchanur to adore Goddess Padmavathi Devi. Padma Sarovar is the sacred tank adjacent to the Padmavathi Devi Temple. SRINIVASA MANGAPURAM: 

Srinivasa Mangapuram is a tiny village located 12 kilometres west of Tirupati. This village’s Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy Temple is located to the south-east. According to legend, Lord Venkateswara resided here for a while after his marriage to Padmavathi Devi before travelling to Tirumala. Ph. 0877 – 2264588

NARAYANAVANAM: 

Narayanavanam is a tiny town located around 22 kilometres south of Tirupati. Here is a shrine dedicated to Kalyana Venkateswara. Puranas and legends tell that Lord Venkateswara wedding Padmavathi Devi, Akasa Raja’s daughter, at this sacred site, and that Akasa Raja erected the temple to honour this wonderful event.

NAGALAPURAM is home to the sacred temple dedicated to Lord Veda Narayanaswamy. The location is around 65 kilometres south-east of Tirupati. The Temple of Sri Vedanarayana Swamy, a superb example of Vijayanagar architecture, is its main attraction. The sanctum sanctorum contains a picture of Vishnu in his Matsyavatara form, flanked on either side by Sri Devi and Bhu Devi.

Sun worship is very essential at this temple. Every year in March, the Sun’s rays pass through the Gopuram entrance for three days and fall on the idol in the sanctum, which is seen as an act of adoration by the Sun. APPALAYAGUNTA: 

Lord Prasanna Venkateswaraswami’s temple is located 15 kilometres from Tirupati in Appalayagunta. Festivals such as Brahmotsavam and Teppotsavam are widely observed. This old temple also houses the idols of Goddess Padmavathi and Sri Andal. The Rajas of Karvetinagar built the temple, which has a shrine for Anjaneya. Devotees worship the intimidating gigantic picture of the wind-god for healing from ‘chronic ailments.’

KARVETINAGARAM: 

This temple is dedicated to Lord Venugopalaswami with Rukmini and Satyabhama and is located near Puttur, 58 kilometres from Tirupati. This was upheld by the Narayanavanam monarchs in the past. It also has a shrine where monolithic idols of Sita, Rama, Lakshmana, and Anjaneya may be found.

VAYALPADU: 

Valaypadu is home to an old Temple dedicated to Lord Sri Rama. Vayalpadu is approximately 100 kilometres from Tirupati.
