People believe that the best day to appease Lord Kaal Bhairav is the eighth day after the full moon, which is called “Ashtami Tithi.” On this day, Hindus worship Lord Bhairav and fast to show their devotion to him. There are 12 Kalashtami celebrations each year.

It is called “Kalabhairav Jayanti.” When Kalashtami falls on a Sunday or Tuesday, which are holy days for Lord Bhairav, it is also seen as more important. Significance of Kalashtami:
“Aditya Purana” talks about how important Kalashtami is. Lord Kaal Bhairav, who is known as a form of Lord Shiva, is the most important god to worship on Kalashtami. In Hindi, the word “kaal” means “time,” while “Bhairav” means “the form of Shiva.” So, Kaal Bhairav is also called the “God of Time,” and people who worship Lord Shiva worship him with all their heart.
Hindu legends say that Brahma said something that made Lord Shiva very angry during a fight between Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh. He then turned into “Mahakaleshwar” and cut off Lord Brahma’s fifth head. Since then, both gods and people have worshiped this form of Lord Shiva as “Kaal Bhairav.” People who pray to Lord Shiva on Kalashtami are thought to be asking for his blessings. People also believe that worshiping Lord Bhairav on this day will remove all pain, suffering, and bad things from their lives.
