Tirumala Maha Laghu Darshan:
This Maha Laghu Darshan is done when there are a lot of people, like on public holidays and other events with a lot of people. During the Maha Laghu Darshan, all of the pilgrims in line will be able to see Lord Sri Venkateswara from the door where the Jaya Vijaya Statue is. About 50 feet will separate it from the main idol. During Maha Laghu Darshan, pilgrims aren’t allowed to get any closer to the idol, and this is the farthest they can get from the idol in Tirumala. Pilgrims would see the Lord for about 10 to 12 seconds during this Darshan.
Tirumala Laghu Darshan:
This Darshan is better than the Maha Laghu Darshan in some ways. Pilgrims will be able to go all the way to the third door of the main temple, where they will have a better view of the Lord. About 50 feet will separate it from the main idol. At the moment, this Laghu Darshan is done every day except when there aren’t many people around and no pilgrims are waiting in the compartments. Pilgrims will see the Lord for about 30 to 40 seconds during this Darshan.
Only VIP darshan devotees can get Tirumala Laghu Darshan in Tirumala. You need either a recommendation letter or a ticket to get VIP darshan.
