Sri Venkateswara Swami Vaari Temple is a Hindu temple in the hill town of Tirumala, which is in the Tirupati district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The next time you go to Tirumala and have a special break darshan at the Lord Venkateshwara temple, make sure you don’t wear bermudas, shorts, mini-skirts, middies, sleeveless tops, or low-rise jeans or T-shirts that are too short. If you don’t, you won’t be able to go into the temple.

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), which runs the richest temple in the country in the Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, started enforcing a “dress code” on Wednesday for VIP pilgrims who want to see Lord Venkateshwara in the morning and evening.

TTD started a traditional dress code in 2013 to make the spiritual atmosphere better for the people who come to Tirumala to see Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy. It was first used for pilgrims taking part in Arjitha Sevas. Now, it is also used for VIP pilgrims who want a break darshan of Lord Sri Venkateshwara Swamy and for regular pilgrims who pay Rs.300 or Rs.50 for a darshan.

Tirumala Seva Dress Code for Rs.300 SED darshan:

You can wear traditional clothes. You can wear normal pants. There are no rules about what to wear for Sarva Darshan and Divya Darshan. You can wear anything, but for Sri Venkateswara Darshan, you should plan to wear something nice.

Seva tickets and Break Darshan tickets are the only ones that have a strict dress code.

Tirumala Seva Dress Code for Break Darshan: 

• The “Dress code” should be followed by VIP pilgrims who want to see Lord Venkateswara in the morning and evening.
• A woman devotee can wear a saree or chudidar with chunni, while a man devotee can wear dhoti or lungi with uttareeyam or kurta-pyjama.
• Men can also wear a simple shirt and pants, but the dhoti and uttariyam are the best choices.
• And if a devotee doesn’t follow the dress code, he or she will be told to change before entering Queue Complex.

Tirumala Seva Dress Code for Arjitha Sevas: 

For Kalyanam and other sevas, men must wear a Dhoti and Uthareeyam, and women must wear a saree or chudidar with chunni.

Not allowed: Bermuda shorts, T-shirts, jeans, shorts, and any other western outfit that shows body parts. Even if a devotee is from another country, they should cover up before going into the Queue complex.

• Female: women can attend wearing a Half saree, saree with blouse, Punjabi dress with dupatta, chudidhar with dupatta.
