Singarayakonda is home to the Prasanna Anjaneya Swamy Temple, which can be found near the base of the hills. Sri Prasannanjaneya Swamy is situated next to Singarayakonda Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple in Addanki Mandal, Prakasam district. The temple is located 42 kilometers away from Ongole and 5.5 kilometers away from Addanki. This temple is presided over by the deity known as Sri Hanuman. It is quite unusual for devotees to position the idol of Sri Prasanna Aanjaneya Swamy so that it faces south. There are two different accounts regarding the temple.
One of them is Anjaneya Swamy, who, when he journeyed to Sri Lanka in quest of Mata Sita Devi, stayed for a day at this location. The second one says that during the end of the 17th century, at the time of the inauguration of the Dwaja Stambham in the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple, a Yogi built a statue of Sri Prasannanjaneya Swamy at Bhavanasi tank, which is located at the foot of Singarakonda hill, and then vanished. At that point in time, the locals began offering prayers to Sri Prasannanjaneya Swamy at Singarakonda.

Toward the end of the 17th century, about 210 years from now, they were installing the Flag Post (Dwajasthambham) at the Narasimha Swamy Temple which is located uphill. The Prasanna Anjaneya Idol was placed at the base of the hills, close to the Bhavanasi Temple Tank, by a holy man who then vanished when the installation was complete. The miracle was witnessed by the tens of thousands of worshippers who had arrived to celebrate the Flag’s post-installation ceremony.
Another legend that has been passed down about this temple says that Hanuman, while on his quest to find the goddess Sita, spent a day camped out on this hill. The idol is positioned so that it faces south.
On the day of Hanuman Jayanthi, Prasanna Anjaneya Swamy Temple a massive celebration will take place, and the temple will see a significant increase in visitors. On this holy day, the Temple used to be visited by tens of thousands of devotees from the surrounding areas who would perform Bhajans.
