Chidambaram temple:

The Thillai Nataraja Temple, also known as the Chidambaram Nataraja Temple, is a Hindu temple that is devoted to Nataraja, a form of Shiva that is known as the lord of dance. This temple is also known as the Chidambaram Nataraja Temple. This temple may be found in Chidambaram, which is in the state of Tamil Nadu in India. This temple dates back to ancient times, and there was previously a Shiva shrine here when the area was still referred to as Thillai.

The name of the city, Chidambaram, can be translated literally to mean “stage of consciousness.” The building of the temple represents the relationship between artistic expression and spirituality, as well as between creative endeavours and the holy. The wall carvings at the temple represent all 108 karanas from the Natya Shastra written by Bharata Muni. These postures are the basis of Bharatanatyam, an Indian classical dance form.

2023 Chidambaram Arudra Darshan:

The festival known as Arudra Darisanam honours Lord Shiva in his guise as the dancer known as Nataraja. It takes place on the night that is the longest of the year, which also happens to be a full moon day in the Tamil month of Margazhi (which falls between the middle of December and the middle of January) and is ruled over by “the crimson star” Thiruvadirai (Arurdra). Ananda Tandava is the name of the dance that Shiva does, and it means “the dance of happiness.” This dance represents the cosmic cycles of creation and destruction. The following are the five components that are discussed in the Tandava:
