According to temple legend, the Vasanthotsavam Festival began in the 1460s under the reign of King Achyutaraya. Description of Vasanthotsavam Seva:
The temple priests in Ekantam begin Vasanthotsavam with Punya Vachanam (purification rites), Vaasthu Santhi , and Samprokshanam.
