Legend beyond Anant Chaturdashi:
This day, Anant Chaturdashi, has a legend connected to it. The story behind Anatha Chaturdashi vrat goes back to the time of the Mahabharata (between the 3rd century BCE and the 3rd century CE). The Kauravas, who fought against the Pandavas in the Battle of Kurukshetra, and the Pandavas, who were the five sons of King Pandu, played a game of chance with each other.
The Kauravas won by lying, which meant that the Pandavas lost their kingdom and all of their possessions and were also sent into exile. After being in terrible trouble and poverty for a while, they meet Lord Krishna and ask him to help them get out of their trouble and get their things back. Lord agrees and shows them how to do the Ananta Chaturdashi vrat rituals, which were the only thing that could save Pandava’s life.

Lord Krishna continues to talk about Ananta, who is one of Lord Vishnu’s powerful incarnations. Lord Vishnu is called “Anantha” for a reason that is very important. It means someone who is beyond the cycle of life and death and has no beginning or end. He is so far away that our prayers are the only way to get to Him. He doesn’t care about who you are, what you’ve done, or how much you’ve suffered on earth.
What He cares about is your devotion (bhakti), your willingness to let go, and the lessons you learn from your life on earth. So, if you want his blessings to come your way, you must do puja with a lot of love and care. Yudhishtira bows his head in shock and promises to follow the vrat with all of his devotional strength. He soon got back what he had lost and was happy again.
