The Tirumala Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple’s History:

Tirupati is in the Andhra Pradesh district of Tirupati. Tirupati is one of the holiest Hindu pilgrimage sites because of the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple, which is located on Tirumala hill, one of seven hills in the Eastern Ghats, 26 kilometres from Tirupati via the Ghat route. The temple is a well-known centre of devotion in southern India, with a history dating back over a thousand years.

The seven hills of the Tirumala Hills, Seshadri, Neeladri, Garudadri, Anjanadri, Vrishabhadri, Narayanadri, and Venkatadri, symbolise Adisesha’s seven heads. The temple is located on the southern bank of Sri Swami Pushkarini, the holy water reservoir, on the seventh mountain, Venkatadri.

The sight of Lord Sri Balaji is supposed to provide comfort to the afflicted, heavenly knowledge to the seeker, prosperity to materialists, and tranquilly to devotees. All pilgrims and visitors seeking darshan at Tirumala must provide proper identification; otherwise, the TTD administration would refuse permission for darshan.
