A Vaishnava or Divya Desam Divya Desam is one of the 108 Vishnu and Lakshmi temples recorded in the literature of the Alvars, the Sri Vaishnava poet-saints. These 108 temples are dedicated to Lord Vishnu. All 108 temples are mentioned in the Tamil Azhwars. And the majority of these temples can be found all over India. One of these 108 is in Nepal, while the other 105 are spread across India. The last two are supposed to be located outside of the earthly kingdoms. The last two are described as follows: Tirrupalkaddal refers to the ocean of milk, while Paramapadam refers to the Srivaikuntam, where Lord Narayana resides. 108 Divya Desam is extremely important to Hindus.

Divya Desam Temples in Andhra Pradesh:

Andhra Pradesh has two Divya Desams that can be visited in three days each.

Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple at Thirupathi (Tirumala, Andhra Pradesh):

Sri Venkateswara Swami Vaari Temple is a Hindu temple in Tirumala, Tirupati, in the Tirupati district of Andhra Pradesh, India. The temple is devoted to Venkateswara, a manifestation of Vishnu who is said to have arrived on Earth to deliver mankind from the trials and tribulations of the Kali Yuga. As a result, the location is also known as Kaliyuga Vaikuntha, and the Lord here is known as Kaliyuga Prathyaksha Daivam.

• Tirumala is located near Tirupathi in Chittor, Andhra Pradesh.
• Tirumala is 24 kilometres from Tirupathi.
• Route: There is only one route from Tirupathi that leads up to Tirumala through Alipiri and one road that leads down.

Thiru Singavel Kundram – Sri Nava Narasimhar (Ahobilam, Andhra Pradesh):

Ahobilam is a town and holy place in the Nandyal district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh’s Allagadda mandal. It is surrounded by the scenic Eastern Ghats hills, which include various mountain slopes and canyons. It is the place of adoration for Narasimha, Vishnu’s lion-headed avatar, to whom all nine Hindu temples and other shrines are devoted. Lower Ahobilam is home to the main settlement and a temple complex. Upper Ahobilam includes more temples in a rocky gorge about 8 kilometres to the east.

The principal Narashima Swamy temples at each location were erected or developed by Vijayanagara rulers in the 15th and 16th centuries, then plundered by the Mughals in 1578, then restored and expanded at various periods to the current day. They are currently a mash-up of work from all of these times.
