Shani Trayodashi: Importance

There was a man named Seth in ancient times. Sethji’s home provided every form of comfort, but Seth and Sethani were always unhappy owing to the absence of children. After much thought, Sethji delegated his work to the staff and went on a pilgrimage with Sethani. On his way out of town, he came across a sage sitting in meditation. Sethji reasoned that he should take the sage’s blessings and proceed further. The monk was seated next to Seth and Sethani.
When the monk opened his eyes, he realized that Seth and Sethani had been praying for blessings for quite some time. The monk told Seth and Sethani, “I understand your anguish.” You will receive child delight if you observe the Shani Pradosh fast. The monk also explained the Pradosh fast method to Seth-Sethani and asked her to repeat the following Lord Shiva prayer while fasting.
